Subject: Wood Shutter Repair
Date: Thursday, April 23, 2020Is this fixable? I really want to restore them as they are original to the 1930’s home. I’m a do-it-yourselfer so I’m going to need advice.
Anita
Anita,
It is fixable. From what I can see, I would want to have 2–4 quarts of the S-1 Sealer. Probably 2 quarts or less, but I want to over estimate rather than under estimate. Also, 2 pints of Sculpwood Epoxy Paste. And probably 1.5 pints of General Purpose Epoxy Resin, slow, medium, or fast cure, depending on your current temperatures.
The above estimate is for one shutter. But likely this amount could do 2–3 shutters. We would be happy to coach you through the use of the products. We have been doing so for over 20 years.
