Dr. Rot,

Weather permitting I intend to begin painting with the Uniflex 255* this weekend on rafter tails, barge rafters and outriggers.. On bare old wood (some two part epoxy filler on rafter tails due to gutter damage), how long should I wait after applying the CPES prior to painting? Is there an optimum application window?

Thank You,

Ran W.

Ran,

You can apply the UNIFLEX 255* as soon as the CPES surface stops being tacky to the touch. Depending on temperature and air movement, this can be within several hours. The optimum application window is within 24 hours. This way the epoxy is still in its curing process and it locks the UNIFLEX 255* into the bond.

* Since Uniflex 255 Aliphatic is no longer available, we suggest our Elasta-Tuff™ 6000-AL-HS instead.
